Hello! I am Cami…. It is so nice to meet you. 🌻

I am glad we found each other.   I am a life-long San Diegan but I moved to Kansas several years ago.  I started traveling and exploring the region and returned with so many wonderful stories that friends and family encouraged me to write a blog to share what I had discovered.   I have learned to love with the Midwest.  I hope you do too.  It is one of the most unique spots on our earth. I never seem to run out of interesting  places to visit.

I often incorporate the history of each town.  Sometimes I spotlight the repositories, where visitors can find genealogical information.  I imagine you might have an interest in finding your ancestors.   They have much to tell us, don’t they?   About themselves.  About us.  And about how we came to be who we are.

When I moved to Kansas, I discovered a massive repository of historical records nearby — The Midwest Genealogy Center.  I sat down at their computers and started researching my family. After a time, the librarian could tell I was stalling in my efforts.  She walked over, smiling. She told me to follow her. She led me to a picture on the wall. It was of an iceberg. The tiny top portion, above water, represents all the information that has been scanned and digitized so far (a mere 10%).   The rest of the enormous iceberg underwater represents the information that is out there undigitized, in courthouse attics and basements, town museums, newspaper back rooms, sections of libraries… It was then that I decided to create a career to help people find all this tremendously valuable information.  So in this blog I will take you along with me as I go out researching. It is always an adventure that includes exploring coffee shops, boutiques, museums, and anything else that piques my curiosity.

In great anticipation,

Cami 🌼
